Not to be a wet blanket or anything, but you might want to have a wet blanket handy (or ice or antibiotic) when you intentionally ignite explosives and hand them to children. Sparklers are the most common cause of injury (way more than “home-made” fireworks, I note).
But if you do find yourself or the light of your life injured, at least take solace in the fact that you might be able to go after the fireworks manufacturer in Minnesota, even if the manufacturer is on the other side of the world and even if it has no office in Minnesota, no agent for service of process in Minnesota, no distributor in Minnesota, no advertising in Minnesota, and no direct sending of any of its products into Minnesota. Hooray! (Seriously, have a safe and pleasant Independence Day holiday!)
